Wes Harding // Executive Pastor

Hometown: Denver, CO

Family Info: Married to my beautiful, loving, and talented wife, Jeri, and three adult children, Wes Jr., Josh, and Christal

How did you come to the Bridge?

God called us to be part of His local church in El Segundo.  Pastor Rob and I worked together at Living Way Fellowship in Littleton, Colorado.

What is your role at the Bridge?

I oversee the operations of the church from Sunday volunteers to finances to small groups (which we call Connect Groups) and major events.

What is the best part about your role?

The best part of my role is being able to labor for the advancement of the Kingdom.  When I was in the business world, I longed to labor every minute of every day for the Kingdom, not really understanding that there is no separation between Kingdom work and every job work.  As Christians, we have Kingdom work to do whether it is in the home, at school, at work, or in the relationships that we build.  So the best part of my role can be the best part of your role as well; working for the advancement of the Kingdom!  God gives us a good work to do!

FUN STUFF

If you were a color, what color would you be? why?

I would like to be the color blue, not a very bright blue, but a blue with a touch of green it. To me, this color is calming and peaceful, which I can be for about a minute a day. That is why I would like to be blue more than I am at this point in my life.

What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years? why?

Ice cream is the greatest invention in the last 100 years because it is like the color blue.

What is your favorite place on the earth?

Anywhere loved ones are. I find my greatest peace close to those I am close to as well as wide open spaces.

What makes you laugh?

Jerry Lewis, the Pink Panther, Monty Python, and unexpected mayhem with no danger involved.

What makes you cry?

Injustice to the little ones, triumph of the soul against all odds, victory of the underdog after a grueling battle of strength and wits and perseverance.

If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be?

Biggest Loser!! Because when we lose ourselves in Christ we are our true self and discover that He has taken the pounds (burdens) away. When I am lost, when I lose the worldly pounds, He is found in me creating His newness of life in and through me!

Scott Tannehill // Teaching Pastor

Hometown: Downey, California

Family Info: Single

How did you come to the Bridge?

In 1993 I attended a Bible study at Rob & Cathy McKenna’s home here in El Segundo. I came adversarial and philosophical, and left born of the Spirit of God and baptized in the Holy Spirit! Before Pastor Rob left for God’s calling to Colorado, we had become accountability partners. Upon his return we began to discuss the possibility of God using us together in ministry. With much prayer over a two year period, God brought me to El Segundo Foursquare Church now known as the Bridge.

What is your role at the Bridge?

My role is in equipping the saints for the work of service, in unity of faith, until we all attain to the fullness of the stature which belongs to Christ, spirit, soul, and body. Primarily through the teaching of God’s word in practical applicable ways, bringing transformation by renewing our minds to God’s will through His word for our lives.

What is the best part about your role?

Being able to work with incredibly gifted people who love Jesus and want to reach the world with His love and His Word!

Our role at The Bridge will be to love God and love people!. We believe God is calling our church to partner with families and pursue healthy marriages, confident parents, and empowered kids and teens. In our role as Family Ministries Pastors we will be working closely with Pastor Rob and the staff to identify needs, secure resources, create curriculum, and implement strategy. We are excited to learn and grow as The Lord leads us as we remember the He created the family before He created the church, and if the church is the hope for the world then the family is the hope for the church.

FUN STUFF

If you were a color what color would you be and why?

My favorite color is a burnt orange so I would be that because it's a color that represents joy and creativity.

What do you count as the greatest invention in the last 100 years? Why?

The greatest invention in the last 100 years has to be smart phones. That completely revolutionized how people function (good and bad) and they have made life simpler and more efficient.

What is your favorite place on the earth?

Anywhere that there is a pine forest I am happy! But I would say the most beautiful place I've seen is La Grange, CA. In the summer it's all rolling hills that look golden from the tall grass and they go for miles and miles...it's peaceful.

I love puns, and sarcasm! But I'd say memes make me laugh more often than anything.

What makes you cry?

If you could be on any reality TV show which one would it be?

I'd be on "Alone" it's a show about 10 people surviving in the wilderness by themselves as long as they can with zero contact with other people. I love challenging myself and love the wilderness so it seems like it would be a fun experience!
