Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall
Do you have a desire to see a gospel-driven revival in our next generation? Can you relate to the struggles of youth? Then come share your testimony and learn to lead juveniles in God’s word through prepared bible studies!
Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall in Downey, CA functions as a temporary holding facility for children awaiting court proceedings. As the second oldest juvenile facility that serves the county of Los Angeles, Los Padrinos houses approximately 500 incarcerated juveniles with ages ranging from 12 to 18 years old.
The outreach that we do at Los Padrinos is a comprehensive program created by Chaplain’s Eagles, Inc., an interdenominational religious organization assigned in 1991 by the County Los Angeles Board of Supervisors to partner with the County of Los Angeles Probation Department Juvenile Division to preside over all Protestant Ministry Services and other ministries not having a Chaplaincy currently in place. This ministry serves the County’s juvenile halls and camps. Chaplain’s Eagles will train, license and supervise volunteers in all prescribed activities to achieve successful ministry to the youth in residency. Once certified, they provide all the experience, prepared studies and support.
These kids are in for a very short period of time as they're filled with fear and uncertainty while awaiting their trial. They need people that can pray for them and speak into their lives at this very critical time by providing them with the hope that only Jesus Christ can give.
We go out every two weeks on Thursday evenings. Come be a part of this exciting ministry that is seeing many youth come to know our Lord!
